Why Orchard Road Is My Go-To Cafe District

If I have a free afternoon and want to visit a few cafes, Orchard Road is usually one of the first places I think of.

It isn’t just because there are plenty of cafes there. I like how easy it is to turn a cafe visit into an entire afternoon without having to plan too much around it.

I can start with coffee, walk around for a while, stop somewhere else when I feel like taking a break, and still have plenty of options nearby. There is something convenient about having different cafes within reach of each other, especially when I’m comparing spaces for a list.

Orchard also gives me variety. Some cafes feel polished and modern, while others are quieter and more relaxed. That difference is useful when I’m trying to understand what makes each place worth visiting rather than simply looking for another good cup of coffee.

It’s probably why I keep coming back to the cafes around Orchard Road.

For me, a good cafe district isn’t necessarily about having the most cafes. It’s about having enough variety to make exploring feel worthwhile.

And Orchard Road usually gives me exactly that.
